Occoquan is such a lovely little town.  I remember my Daughter-law always telling me about this place, and saying how much she knew I would love it!  And that she would take me there whenever I came to visit.  Well, I finally went and it definitely didn't disappoint.  You can see more pictures of my little day/adventure here: Arlene's Flickr Photos

Historic Occoquan is a community rich in history and consists of residents, artists, shops, restaurants, businesses, and a local town government.

Envelope box

I took a couple of ordinary envelope boxes that would have been thrown away, and simply covered the top with a cross between contact paper and cloth - it made for a nice little storage box.

I like the Gray box color

I didn't want to cover-up the word envelope on the box; I thought that would make it that much more interesting to know I simply created it from a box that once had envelopes in it.

I used a hole puncher to make a hole on the top cover and the box bottom; I took a ribbon looped it through on one side of the box - this way It becomes a flip top with a decorative bow.
I never have to un-tie the bow - just flip-it from the other side.

THANKSGIVING & THE TABLE

Well, I did it.  This is our very first Thanksgiving table, and I was so excited to Host Thanksgiving this year and have all of my family present, especially my Two Sons - Christopher and David.  Having both of my Sons here was very special because since they've moved to different states (separately), its been a little challenging to have them here together at the same time.  And as I've posted a little while ago (see under Lables -Dining Table), this table represents that we can all come together, sit down and have a meal without having to hold food in our laps because we didn't have the space or a large enough table to seat every member of the family.  Usually Thanksgiving is held at my Mother's house, and she always went out of her way to make things nice and comfortable for everyone, but although everything was beautiful and well put together she just never had the space to seat everyone at the same time.  Because of this table all of that has changed - everything turned out wonderful!  It was truly a blessing.

CHOCOLATE WORLD EXPO

Ali & I  recently went to a Chocolate Expo they had going on in Westchester.  Ali happen to see an advertisement for the show, and he knows how much I love chocolate (only the dark kind), so off we went.    I didn't even know they had an event like this going on!  I was so excited to go, because I knew we were going to get to sample all of those delicious chocolates.

It started to get a bit busy over here.

This booth had so many different peanut butters - even dark chocolate.  I believe they sell this in some of the supermarkets as well.

A good amount of people showed-up.  And It was beautiful outside that day too.

Doesn't this look so gooood!

They had so many flavors of Pie Tarts: Sour cherry, Pecan, Pumkin -so many others, and of course Chocolate!  We were able to sample them all, but we didn't.  The ones we tried were really good though.

I thought this was fun.  They had hand-cuffs, tools, a deck of cards- just all kinds of interesting things made out of chocolate.

I just liked this nice warm leaf tree

All kinds of tasty fudge.

I should have taken a picture of this Lady- better yet, I wish I could've recorded her.  She was so funny- really selling her company's chocolate goods like a champ.  And she did a good job too!  We got to taste samples of some delicious truffles.

Chocolate everywhere!

Chocolate Buddahs

Samples of cinnamon or chocolate buns

Lots of nuts- regular and chocolate covered

Chocolate covered apples

Even Wine!

This company had so many different kind of Balsamic Vinegars.  I couldn't believe all of the many flavors they had - Even, Yes!  Chocolate.  I didn't particularly care for it though.  I guess some things you just have to leave alone.

I love good Magazines especially if there about (Health, Food, and Home).  And the fantastic thing about this table, was that they all were nice and FREE!  And even better, you could take as many of them as you'd like (no limit).

I just loved that this company made chocolate shoes.  Can you even begin to emagine how you would take a bite out of that shoe?

I want to put it in a glass cabinet and just look at it, and think everyday, is this the day I'm going to eat my shoe.  Lol

Ali & I sampled enough, that by the time we were ready to go, I didn't really want to buy much.  We picked- up a few things though.

$5 TABLE

I was doing a little browsing at one of the thrift stores I frequent, when I came across this little table.  I thought it was kind of nice, so I checked for the price tag and when I saw $5.00 I thought, that's a pretty good deal!  It could be used as a coffee or side table.  I decided not to get it because I really had no place to put it.  I'm sure someone will scoop it up and give it a nice little home.

The frame can be spray painted any color of choice.

Sexy Aprons

I love a cute apron, and these are some sexy aprons.  They look just like real dresses!  Don't you think?  I was in Macy's one day and as I was walking by I spotted these aprons.  I couldn't believe how they had them all set-up.  Take a look below; there all merchandised like real designer dresses.  Love it!

These!  Not that sexy.  But still nice.

I had to take a picture of the dish/cleaning gloves.  I have a few myself; although a lot cheaper than Macy's, I'm sure.
