$5 TABLE

I was doing a little browsing at one of the thrift stores I frequent, when I came across this little table.  I thought it was kind of nice, so I checked for the price tag and when I saw $5.00 I thought, that's a pretty good deal!  It could be used as a coffee or side table.  I decided not to get it because I really had no place to put it.  I'm sure someone will scoop it up and give it a nice little home.

The frame can be spray painted any color of choice.

Sexy Aprons

I love a cute apron, and these are some sexy aprons.  They look just like real dresses!  Don't you think?  I was in Macy's one day and as I was walking by I spotted these aprons.  I couldn't believe how they had them all set-up.  Take a look below; there all merchandised like real designer dresses.  Love it!

These!  Not that sexy.  But still nice.

I had to take a picture of the dish/cleaning gloves.  I have a few myself; although a lot cheaper than Macy's, I'm sure.

Kitchens I like

Everyone has their own style when it comes down to how they want their kitchen to look.  Some like it fancy, and some prefer them with a clean un-cluttered look (nothing at all on the counter-tops).  My ideal kitchen is organized with everything right at hand.  I like a kitchen to feel like a kitchen; functioning like someone actually cooks here!  And I'm all about cozy; with things on counters and shelves.  To me, a kitchen doesn't have to be fancy schmancy.  I actually prefer it more casual - kind of country cottage like!

In my kitchen

Ali & I recently had a house quest.  This is Fariba- helping me make breakfast (she did a great job sauteing the onions).   Fariba's from Canada.  She was vacationing with family in Istanbul for a few weeks, and before going back home decided she would make a stop to New York, so she stayed with us for a few days.  And for the short time of her being here - we had nice time.  She's so pleasant; just the kind of person you'd very much welcome back into your home.

Kitchen up-grade

Etagere: A New Home

I went shopping for my Sister, and bought this etagere from a thrift store.  She needed something to place her television on as well as some other things like: Books and DVDs.  Well, my Sister recently moved from her apartment, and I took this baby off her hands.  Now it's home in my kitchen where my nice little table/prep island use to be (I miss that table). I ate and did all my food prepping there.  But I really wanted to make a transition of having a place where I could just have everything within arms length; without having to reach into four different directions for everything I need.  When you cook as often as I do - it makes perfect sense.

Yah!  All my goodies in one place.

 My old table/prep island

I kept thinking, what could I do with this table (I really didn't want to let it go).
Then it came to me; take the top off and use it as a counter prep board!

I placed the top of my old table on top of my counter
And here it is: Voila!

Introducing: NEMO!

Ali & I are foster parents to Nemo - we're thinking about adopting him.  Nemo is a rescued cat from a hoarder's house of many many other animals, so you can only imagine he was very scared when we brought him to our home; he stayed in the bathroom for days before coming out.  But he seems to be  adjusting well.  He's out of the bathroom, and all over the place. (Bad ass already!) I guess he's feeling at home.

Those eyes! (beautiful green)

Paint Job needed!

My dining and livingroom -  goodness!  I sure do need a new paint job.  The crumbling is starting.  My livingroom, which at one time was my son, Christopher's bedroom (can you see the gray walls with black trim?) His idea.   Basically, everyroom in my home need a new paint job.  I'll admit- I have been a bit lazy about it.  Hopefully, I'll get it all together soon, and maybe then I can finally put a nice picture or mirror over that sofa!  That bothers me!
